Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Philadelphia is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great ice cream!! I was exhausted and needed a little sugar boost, so I decided to give this ice cream parlor a try. And it was FANTASTIC! I had the chocolate fudge brownie ice cream in a cup. The ice cream was thick and creamy, with lots of chunks of chocolate throughout. Everything was really well blended. Loved it! There were also a few seats available at the counter, which was nice for taking a quick break. Totally recommend! :)

This is the countryβs oldest ice cream company, founded in 1861. Theyβre also the very first and longest-operating tenant in the Reading Terminal Market. And we indulged here! ATMOSPHERE: Located on the 12th Street side of RTM. They have a spacious counter with a few dedicated seats. DESSERT: Double Scoop Waffle Cone Iβm a purist when it comes to ice cream - no swirls, nuts or anything additional. Chocolate and vanilla for me, please. Thick, creamy and not overly sweet is the perfect trifecta here, generous scoops and a crisp cone. Highly recommended. SERVICE: All were friendly. OVERALL: Still family-owned and the best in my book.

Was in town for a conference at the Marriott across the street and was completely amazed by the market and saw what looked like really good authentic ice cream so gave it a try⦠and found it to be just as amazing as the market. I went with the crowd favorite, salted caramel pretzel and it was full of chunks and flavor. So good. Definitely recommend!

At Reading Terminal Market, this ice cream originated in 1861 and is the oldest surviving ice cream brand in the United States. Pistachio: The ice cream had a rich, creamy texture with a strong pistachio flavor and coarsely crushed nuts, but also a noticeable almond flavor. Salted Caramel Pretzel: The salt caramel flavor was authentic and fragrant, not too sweet. The crisp, crunchy pretzel bursted in your mouth with every biteβa delightful surprise!

Best ice cream I have had in a while! βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ I went there without much expectation and took the coffee fudge truffle in a chocolate dipped cone. It was very creamy and thick in consistency (in a good way). The cone was super crisp and they gave 2 scoops of ice cream. It was a lot but I enjoyed every bite of it. The flavor was great! Would love to come back and try more flavors! And the server was very nice!
